I was working at Waldbaums as a bagger. This really obese woman had bought a copy of The Globe and I happened to glance at the headline. There, underneath the story about the last Titanic survivor found adrift, was the story about Buddy. The rest of the day was just a blur for me. Even today, it still seems so surreal.
